The mental Health Centre – Veliko Tarnovo Ltd has the opportunity to serve patients with somatic problems when follow-up is needed,
as well as patients with catatonic and depressive stupor requiring ECT (electroconvulsive therapy).

CHARTER OF PATIENT’S RIGHTS
Any patient seeking medical attention is entitled:
1.To receive timely, adequate and high quality medical care, regardless of
gender, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs and cultural level.
2. To know the name of the doctor who treats them and the name of
the nurse who takes care of and is responsible for the coordination of their care.
3. To be informed of the nature and prognosis of the disease and the purpose of the suggested tests and treatments.
4. To accept or refuse the proposed investigations and treatment, to be informed about existing alternatives
for diagnostic and treatment and about the freedom of choice between them.
Right to refuse the proposed treatment the patient can exercise within the actual laws in the country,
after being informed of the negative health consequences of such refusal.
5. To be promptly investigated and treated by well established treatment methods and instruments,
while using technically reliable equipment and
while applying care with the necessary expertise, attention and respect.
6. To ensure confidentiality of their illness.
7. To benefit from the support of family, relatives and friends during treatment.
8. To be informed about the cost of their treatment.
9. To be provided with health education that includes information about healthy lifestyles,
preventative methods and methods for early detection of diseases. Patient's
personal responsibility for their own health is essential.
10. To be familiar with their obligations as a patient.
11. To make complaints to higher levels when their rights indicated in this Charter are violated.
If the patient is in a condition that limits their ability to understand the provided information,
or when from the medical point of view is undesirable to provide such information,
the information is provided to their trustee or legal representative.
